MG Ceilings has secured the contract for The W.I.C.E.D (Women’s International Centre for Economic Development) Building Liverpool. Works to be carried out include knauf metal stud partitioning systems & wall linings and Armstrong Suspended Ceiling System. The project will start on 9th August to the 5th November and the main contractor is Kier Northern.
At the end of June Jonathan Pochin (MD of Pochin construction) and his team set out to raise funds for the company’s main charity – Christie’s Hospital. This year’s demanding challenge was to cycle from Lands End to John O’Groats in 48 hours! Working in a continual relay of three small teams, they completed the 870 miles, and 37,620 feet of ascents, pedalling day and night, in record time.
The event took place over the weekend of 26th and 27th June 2010.
MG Ceilings supported their supplier partner by supporting the challenge with a donation of £500.
MG Interiors Group are proud to unveil visuals for new look head offices in Liverpool.Since the continued growth of MG Barkers, MG Ceilings & Linings & MG Linear it has always been the Groups ambition to move to bigger premises.
Plans for the new look offices in Vesty Business Park have been afoot since March 2010, plans include a first floor working showroom. The design team along with company directors have been working closely to deliver a first class office environment that portrays MG’s vision for the future for Commercial environments.
The new unit has achieved an excellent BREEAM rating. This means that sustainability and environmental issues have been taken into account in their construction and future operations.
The provision of wind turbines provides renewable energy and contributes to the reduction of energy costs for the unit. Any surplus power may be exported via the distribution network generating income for the general use within the building. Two Roof- mounted wind turbines are fitted to the top of the building.
With this in mind a careful and selective approach to materials & construction will be used to enhance the offices environmentally friendly credentials. MG are looking to further develop the premises by investing in energy-saving equipment as specified on the Energy Technology List (ETL) which is managed by the Carbon Trust.
Internal expansion works started in July 2010 with an anticipated move date of December 2010.
